SARA stands for the Strategic Automotive Radar frequency Allocation group, comprised of automotive manufacturers and component suppliers supporting the introduction of ultra-wide band (UWB) short range vehicular radar.
SARA was formed in 2001 and works for the worldwide frequency allocation for automotive radar including the development of technology standards.

![]() At the "Saving Lives Awards" ceremony, Mrs. Viviane Reding, European Commissioner for the Information Society and Media, rewarded personalities and organizations who made outstanding contributions to improve road safety based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). 03.04.2007 SARA supports eSafety AwareeSafety Aware has the goal to enhance road safety by providing information to drivers about safety technologies, including driver assistance systems. The campaign ‘Choose ESC’ (ESC - Electronic Stability Control) will be launched on 8th May 2007. ESC scans driving dynamics to provide driver assistance.
